About US

Private Staff Life was created to support those working in private homes. These roles are often demanding, complex and quietly isolating.

Having worked within private households for over a decade across London and Europe, I understand first-hand the realities of private service. The long hours, the blurred roles and the pressure to consistently manage, adapt and deliver.

Private household roles often blend, expectations can shift and boundaries may blur quickly. While professionalism and discretion are essential, ongoing support is not always available once you are in a role. Many private staff are left to navigate difficult situations alone, unsure what is reasonable or how best to move forward.

Through this experience, there is a clear understanding of the trust, discretion and adaptability required in high-profile, high-expectation households. From navigating responsibilities and communication to setting boundaries and managing change, the realities of private household work are rarely straightforward.

Private Staff Life exists to offer a confidential, non-judgemental space where private household professionals can talk things through, gain clarity and feel supported in making informed decisions about their work.

Today, this support includes guidance on workplace challenges, contract clarity, CV updates and professional written correspondence. The approach remains simple: clear guidance, practical support and a confidential space where you feel heard.

Everyone working in a private home deserves to feel supported, clear and confident in their role.

OUR MISSION

A woman with curly hair styled in a bun cleaning stairs inside a house. She is holding a box of cleaning supplies and a small broom. The stairway is beige tile, and there is a mirror, a framed painting, and various decorative items on the wall.

Working in private homes comes with unique challenges. Roles often evolve, expectations can be unclear and boundaries may be tested, all while discretion and professionalism remain essential.

Private Staff Life offers support shaped by real experience of private household work.

Support is always confidential, practical, and non-judgemental. Whether you are navigating a difficult situation, seeking clarity around your role, or needing help putting something into words, the focus is on helping you feel informed, supported and confident in your decisions.

This service exists solely for private household professionals. We do not work with employers, agencies, or principals. The support offered is independent, discreet and centred entirely around you.
